Our Approach
Here is our step-by-step approach, which we constantly adapt to embody our commitment to inclusivity and "research outreach" whenever possible.
An organization decides to input their needs in the Counting Me In Collaborative by providing us with a survey to gather data on a specific topic, or works with us to develop a survey instrument that captures the necessary data.

contact our access points, such as community centers, shelters, or local service providers, to distribute the survey, and send them printed copies of electronic versions of the survey materials

Access points serve as trusted intermediaries that have established relationships with marginalized populations, enhancing the reach and participation of individuals who may otherwise be excluded from research.
Access points encourage participation in the survey, explaining its full purpose, while providing services or hosting events. They also provide assistance in completing it, such as clarifying questions, providing language support, or integrating the assessment with other services.
Access points collect completed surveys, and transmit them to our team, who ensure they are securely stored and transmitted.
We share the survey findings with participating organizations, and the broader community.
Those who indicate they are interested in being recommended resources and referrals are notified, with the organization that conducted the survey reporting individual assessments, allowing participants to have access to the insights generated from their contributions.
